Adopted SubsCield, a fraud-information sharing platform from the Japan Subscription Business Promotion Association

GarageBank Corporation is pleased to announce that we have decided to adopt SubsCield, a co-creation-based fraud-information sharing platform that the Japan Subscription Business Promotion Association (Location: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Chairperson: Hayato Sagawa; hereinafter the "Association") is preparing to launch. We endorse the platform's development concept and will be among its early adopters.

Background of adoption

Through cashari, GarageBank provides a leaseback service for movable assets owned by individuals. Stable service operation requires balancing fraud prevention with appropriate user adoption, and GarageBank has implemented a range of measures to that end.

In particular, we determined that leveraging information on fraudulent use observed across the increasingly common subscription-service space would be effective in preventing fraud in our own business as well, leading to our decision to adopt SubsCield.

So that more customers can use cashari with confidence, GarageBank will continue to strengthen its anti-fraud measures and contribute to the development of the subscription industry.

About SubsCield

SubsCield is a system developed by the Association to prevent damage from fraudulent use of subscription and similar services. By adopting it, providers can detect fraudulent use such as non-payment or theft in advance, reducing losses for service providers. Information on fraudulent use is also accumulated and shared on the platform, with continued improvements in data accuracy expected over time.

About the Japan Subscription Business Promotion Association

The Association was established in December 2018 to promote subscription businesses in Japan. It provides information, expertise, and case studies useful for the success of subscription businesses, working to embed subscription models in the Japanese market.
